Olympic Games are the sequence of sporty contests held for legislative body of various city-states of Ancient Greece held in honor of Zeus after every four years. The Olympics is also feature for religious celebrations and artistic contests. The precise origins of the Games are wearing a veil in legend but records point to that they start in 776 BC in the place of Olympia in Greece. They were celebrated until 393 AD when they were covered by Theodosius I as part of the movement to impress Christianity as a condition belief.
Ancient Olympic Games
The Games were frequently held every four years, or Olympiad, as the unit of time came to be recognized. Throughout a celebration of the Games, an Olympic armistice was performing so that athletes could journey from their countries to the Games in shelter. The prizes for the victors were garland of laurel foliage. The Games became a taking side’s tool used by city-states to emphasize dominance over their rivals. Politicians would announce political alliances at the Games, and in times of war, priests would offer sacrifice to the gods for victory. The Games were also used to help spread Hellenistic civilization throughout the Mediterranean. A great statue of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world was erected in Olympia to preside over the Games, and no longer stands in Olympia. Sculptors and poets would gather together each Olympiad to display their works of art to possible customers. The ancient Olympics were quite dissimilar from the modern Olympic Games.
Modern Olympic Games
 There were fewer events, and only free men who spoke Greek could participate.  As long as they met the entry principle, athletes from any country or city-state were allowable to contribute. The Games were always held at Olympia rather than sporadic to different position as is the institution with the modern Olympic Games. There is one major harmony between the ancient and modern Games, the triumphant athletes are honored, distinguished, and praised. Their deeds were harbinger and chronicled so that future generation could be grateful for their happenings. Modern Olympic Games for 2012 are going to held in London from 27 July To 12 August 2012.

Lords Cricket Ground is a cricket venue in St John Wood, London.
